These storms are moving east at roughly 45mph and are quite capable of producing damaging straight-line wind in excess of 60mph:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/scottdimmich.com\/2015\/12\/23\/330pm-update-on-severe-weather-threat\/dec23-blog-radar\/\" rel=\" rel=&quot;attachment wp-att-1873&quot;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1873\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/12\/dec23-blog-radar.jpg\" alt=\"dec23-blog-radar\" width=\"600\" height=\"408\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Additional round of rain and storms are likely tonight, but the round approaching from the west is likely to be the main event. It will zap a lot of the instability available for storms this evening.<\/p>\n<p>The visible satellite snapshot as of 2:15pm shows breaks in the cloud both ahead of the line of storms around Louisville and also behind it:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/scottdimmich.com\/2015\/12\/23\/330pm-update-on-severe-weather-threat\/dec23-blog-satellite\/\" rel=\" rel=&quot;attachment wp-att-1874&quot;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1874\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/12\/dec23-blog-satellite.jpg\" alt=\"dec23-blog-satellite\" width=\"599\" height=\"408\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Breaks in the clouds will support\u00a0to an increase in instability and stronger storms.
