{"id":2778,"date":"2017-04-28T19:36:08","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T19:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scottdimmich.com\/?p=2778"},"modified":"2017-04-28T19:36:08","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T19:36:08","slug":"forecast-severe-weather-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottdimmich.com\/?p=2778","title":{"rendered":"Forecast &#038; Severe Weather Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of 3:15pm, the Storm Prediction Center is considering the issuance of a Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm WATCH for parts of the Ohio Valley including the western Tri-State:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2781\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/mcd0577.gif\" alt=\"mcd0577\" width=\"518\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Temperatures are rising through the 60s and 70s as of 3pm, increasing the amount of instability and likelihood for strong and severe storms:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2784\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/temps1.jpg\" alt=\"temps\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dewpoints have also been rising this afternoon, and this is an impressive rise since this morning when dewpoints were in the the 40s:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2790\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/dewpoints1.jpg\" alt=\"dewpoints\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A 3pm radar snapshot shows showers and thunderstorms developing to the west of Cincinnati and Tri-State:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2793\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/radar1.jpg\" alt=\"radar\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Current thinking is that showers and storms will rapidly develop and increase in coverage late this afternoon and early this evening and continue in waves through the second half of the evening and overnight:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2799\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/evening.jpeg\" alt=\"evening\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The coverage of showers and storms will gradually drop late in the overnight, but flash flooding is the main concern from late evening through sunrise:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2803\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/overnight.jpg\" alt=\"overnight\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Showers and thunderstorms will be favored early Saturday, then partial clearing and rapid warmup comes during the afternoon:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2806\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/saturday.jpg\" alt=\"saturday\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have increased the threat for tornadoes, flash flooding, and large hail slightly from my last update this morning:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2809\" src=\"https:\/\/scottdimmich.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/04\/impacts.jpeg\" alt=\"impacts\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tornado threat is focused along and south of the Ohio River\u00a0through early evening.
